I know this a Broadway site and while there seems to be much talk and debate about theatre. On and Off Broadway theatre and regional theatre. There does not seem to be much or any talk about opera? ballet? or other fields of dramatic art ? Does these repertoire not deserve the same respect same recognition as Musicals and Plays ? or have I got it all wrong and the people on this forum believe that it should not be ran on a Broadway site ?

Nina, while there may not be dozens of opera/dance/classical threads started on here every day, if you actually read and participate in this board, I think you'll find that there are many people here with a deep, abiding love of all of the performing arts.  Not to mention all of the film, tv and pop culture fans on the Off Topic board.

How about this?  If you've got something interesting to say about opera or ballet or something else, start a thread on that very subject.  And, hell, if it's especially high profile - like, say, an opera production at The Met or ABT's upcoming season, I'm sure you'll find some people here who will enthusiastically pipe in.  Just don't discuss any openly bisexual artists or Philly will jump in your thread to claim that they do not exist.

Actually, maybe just go with Gypsy's suggestion.

do you go to discussion boards at NBC, perhaps, and ask why they aren't talking about shows on Netflix?  Or ask a football board why they aren't talking about water polo?

I hope you have succeeded in feeling superior with your taste in art.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
