Christopher Lee has been cut from the film. I have no idea what character "gentleman ghost" was to be, but it seems to be out now.

My first chance to be first to say this: USE THE SEARCH FEATURE.
It's just the main board. It's full of useless threads. What's one more?
You should be ashamed of yourself.
For posting a thread that I thought would be of interest to fellow posters?
Or for daring to question the usefulness of 27 threads about who is performing in what matinee of what show on what day?
Well, I didn't know. Thanks Taz.

So it's okay to post this same topic until EVERY poster on BBW becomes informed about it?
Wasn't trying to be "mean." I've just been slapped down for it before too (also after trying to use the wonky search feature), so I took the chance to dish out a little...
Sorry.

COOOOLkid, what is BBW?
I don't understand why people yell at others about multiple posts on the same topic. Unless there is 3 others on the front page then I don't have a problem with it.
Thanks....it was news to me :)
I don't want to start something here. I didn't see the threads you guys are referring to and I thought it would be interest you.
I used the search feature.
I am not ashamed of myself.
And if I had been berated for multiple postings before I still would not do the same to others.
Can't we all just be nice? Today is Joan Collins' 74th birthday, for chrissakes!!!

I love that there's a petition to get him reinstated even though nothing's official yet (we do know fairly certainly that the ghosts would be Sweeney victims who'd sing the various Ballad reprises)

Just to say and not to be mean, but I did start this awhile ago, when it was just reported by a British source. Link below to the thread.

Actually they dropped the petition because of the letter that Christopher Lee's son in law wrote about how it was an unkind cut and that he had already moved on to another movie.

I still don't get it. "Unkind cut"? Hasn't this man worked in movies long enough to know that, especially when you're a minor role, being cut is very likely?
...oh, I was being sarcastic. I don't give a damn that you reposted it. :)
Actually Lee's son-in-law specified that it WASN'T an unkind cut, that Burton wanted to have Lee in his film because of their established good relationship but that Burton realized the role would not benefit the film. The statement by Lee's son-in-law asked people to stop the petition because it could only hurt Lee's and Burton's solid professional relationship.
He also said that Lee has moved on to another film and that his friendship with Burton remains as strong as always.

Awww phew. that sounds much more accurate--and right

I was just reading what I posted before and I meant to say that it wasn't an unkind cut. Sorry for the confusion.
