#1New role for Cleo Laine on Broadway?
Posted: 8/9/13 at 9:38pmJust saw posting re Regina Resnick's passing. Made me think that Cleo would be a natural for Madame Armfeldt if there were a new revival. She is in her 80s and still performing in jazz venues, primarily in the UK, since her husband, John Dankworth, died several years ago. She got a Tony nom as Puffer in the original Drood on Broadway. Is there a role she could take on today? Would love to see her back.

Posted: 8/10/13 at 10:34pmGod forgive me I didn't know she was still with us. She'd be a great Madame Thenardier in the Les Miz revival. I know she's too old to have a small daughter, but maybe all those French winters have been rough on Mme. T.
