I walked past the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square and noticed a ticket booth on the street level with a sign saying “discount tickets.” I didn’t look too closely but I believe I saw images of hit Broadway shows on a screen. There was one woman in the booth selling the tickets, and people looking at the offerings on the screen. Does anybody know what this is or who runs it? Is it new? Is it a part of tkts?

If it doesn’t have any TDF or TKTS signage/logos, it’s not an affiliate and, personally, I wouldn’t trust it. They sometimes have discounted tickets, but it would be like buying your seats off of Broadway.com - third party, higher price than normal because of junk fees, uncertainty of your seat location, and (doesn’t apply to the website but) no protection if the event is cancelled or postponed.
Like every Broadway show mentions, always stick to the designated sellers.

They also sell Broadway tickets on the 8th floor of the marriot marquis right next to a tiny little Levain bakery booth that sells cookies. I don’t think that’s tkts either, just a place that sells tickets in the hotel lobby presumably for the guests or anybody.

Tickets at the Marriott are VERY expensive. Glorified broker prices.
