I hope Carlton sounds better when she actually takes over the role than she does in the promo video. Weak, flat singing and sounds nothing like Carole King.

This is strange casting...she had one hit song in 2002 from 17 years ago.  Is this supposed to be star casting?

I absolutely love “A Thousand Miles” and its great to see Vanessa Carlton back in the public eye, but there is something very “tribute act” about this casting. West End jukebox musicals sometimes do this (e.g casting established singers Alexandra Burke and Beverly Knight in The Bodyguard), but it’s odd to see this being attempted with Carole King...

It’s lose-lose. Fans of Carole King will regard Vanessa as an imposter, whilst those nostalgic for Vanessa Carlton will be disappointed that she won’t sing THAT song...
