Next Hedwig?

I've heard no rumors but have my own personal speculation...
Michael is leaving the January 4th. So I can imagine 3 scenarios:
1) Since it is lean time January, they will close the show. (BOO!!!)
2) Since it is lean time January, they will bring back NPH to get over the hard months.
3) Since it is lean time January, they will finally make our wettest dreams come true and have JCM play to get through the bad months.
Again these are NOT rumors, just my thoughts on three possible scenarios.

I sincerely hope that happens, I know a lot of people on these boards expressed an interest in seeing him. He must have been something else as the original Hedwig!

Posted: 9/12/14 at 3:07pmI am still dying to see Jinkx play the role on Broadway, but I'm not sure she's a big enough mainstream draw...

I agree/really, really hope so. Perhaps he'd do a very quick, maybe two-week stint at the end of the run. And if the producers wanted to film the last show for release, I'd be okay with that. :)
For that matter, I could see the same thing happening with NPH. I hope the show continues on for a while, though. My personal ideal Hedwig choices (of realistic possibilities, i.e. people who will sell tickets) are Ewan McGregor or Jared Leto.
High Flying, I assume you're referring to the article in Vulture? I agree that it sounds, based on that interview, that Neil would not return to Hedwig, but his only concern about doing it again seems to be getting his body back to its Hedwig state. Perhaps he could be convinced that his gaining a few pounds wouldn't stop anyone from wanting to see him in the show.
In the meantime, looking forward to seeing Andrew in a couple weeks and Michael in November!

Jinkx Monsoon would be great, but would she sell tickets?
My weird "out there" idea for Hedwig would be Jeremy Renner. Likely? No. But I'd see it.

If the producers want to sell some serious tickets to Hedwig in 2015 they should risk the big bucks and get Hugh Jackman, Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, or my personal long shot favorite ...........
Jamie Foxx
From Jamie Foxx's wikipedia page ....
"As a teenager, Jamie was a part-time pianist and choir leader in Terrell's New Hope Baptist Church, and had a strict Baptist upbringing.
Foxx attended Terrell High School, where he received top grades, and played basketball and football as quarterback. He was the first player in the school's history to pass for more than 1,000 yards. He also sang in a band called Leather and Lace.
Foxx began playing the piano when he was five years old. After completing high school, Foxx received a scholarship to United States International University, where he studied classical music and composition.
As a second grader, he was so talented in telling jokes that his teacher used him as a reward. If the class behaved, Foxx would tell them jokes.
As an adult, after accepting a girlfriend's dare, Foxx told jokes at a comedy club's open mic night. When he found that female comedians were often called first to perform, he changed his name to Jamie Foxx, feeling that it was an ambiguous enough name to disallow any biases."
Sounds like a pretty darn good Hedwig to me!

I spoke to JCM on Friday...he said he'd been in talks to do a stint to close the show provided it didn't clash with the film he's doing next year.
Fingers crossed.

Posted: 9/13/14 at 6:35pmBilly Joe has the voice and look for Hedwig, for sure. But how would he be in the acting parts? Unlike American Idiot, this show has a lot of dialog.

Posted: 9/13/14 at 6:51pmIn the documentary about American Idiot, he said several times he cannot act. I don't think this is the right part for a non actor.

Didn't BJA do an episode of Nurse Jackie?
That JCM anecdote is incredibly appetite-whetting.
