Moore definitely had her annoying points, I'll grant you that. And everyone is clear on the fact that Daly cannot sing. BUT her acting was so monumental that you didn't care.

Lavin to me was more annoying than the Yorkie she carried around. Yip, yip, yap.

The Lansbury production was limited Broadway engagement. It was extended several times due to popularity, though.

jumping back a bit. another well known theatre director was going to do gypsy, but he wanted lapone, not peters to the play the role. The producers refused. He walked away. Thats when Mendes was asked.
