How do you know/learn when the next block of tickets for a big show are becoming available?

One idea: Many shows have a website. Share your email with the production, and you should hear of all of their Next Block Announcements.

I agree with BalconyClub, but I have received emails about a new block of tickets hours after they’ve gone on sale.

Honestly, I’d say following these boards is your best bet. I found out about a new block for cursed child here and scored tickets before I got the email.
