Next for Nathan Lane?

Has anyone heard what project Nathan Lane is taking on next? I was under the impression "Iceman" would continue in some way, shape, or form

The running time may be the killer. What time would they start?

They might have to pay overtime to the various unions . This would really make the cost of a ticket much more than it normally would be.Other than real theater nuts, no idea how many others and tourists would sit thru the whole thing or even have interest in it.

I'm hearing from very trusted sources that Nathan Lane will be headlining a revival of The Addams Family in which he will play every single character except the one he played in the original. That part he wanted to leave to his boyfriend Matthew Broderick, who seemed dead onstage anyway in It's Only a Play so Addams Family would be a great fit for him.

Sounds like a winner.

Mathew Broderick is in need of a B12 shot. He should start doing supporting roles films. I for one can skip is stage appearances. Nathan is another story.

Yeah, all kidding aside, Nathan Lane is phenomenal though!

Broderick could play the monster in any stage version of Frankenstein. Whether or not the good doctor could reanimate him is another question all together.

I'd love it if if Iceman transferred to Broadway, but at this point it's looking unlikely. Didn't they say they were looking to transfer in the fall? I feel like we would have heard something by now. And in any case, there aren't even any theatres available.

^ I have to admit that's funny.

It's just a joke mc1227, don't take such offense. Nathan and Mathew are in so many shows together at this point and are so associated with each other (not enough that they can't have separate careers, but still) that it could almost seem that way.

I didn't feel that actors doing 3 plays together warrants that type of comment. Both actors have long established successful careers separately. I read it as an insult so I suppose we differ in what we consider funny. No big deal.

I'd like to see Nathan Lane in The Music Man.

"I'd like to see Nathan Lane in The Music Man."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That's even worse than your My Fair Lady casting.

Unless you mean as Marian the Librarian

Um....no.

I'm sure financially it would be so difficult for a Broadway run, but it would be wonderful to see Iceman transfer to Broadway. I saw Lane in It's Only a Play a few months after Iceman, and though he elevated the material, it was a shame to see him doing such a poorly written piece after doing such excellent work in a classic. I think he really is an underrated dramatic actor, and his performance in Iceman cemented that for me.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Oh Fantod, you pretentious little dweeb. I like how you try to tell everyone how disrespectful they are, but you're probably the biggest a - hole on these boards.

Stop trying so hard for attention.

I'd argue that you're the pretentious one, but you're such a moron that having an argument with you is purposeless. I gave up being nice on this board a while ago. You can be as nasty as you like; see if I care. Your dream casting remains as awful as ever.

Audra McDonald! In My Fair Lady!

Next for Nathan Lane?

^Why not? Is it because she's black? Eliza Doolittle can't be black? Where is that in the script?

I am not pretentious either. I don't feel like my opinion is superior to others and I don't try to impress people. I have an issue with people who feel like they're better than everyone else because of they're opinion (AKA you).

Nathan Lane would be fine in The Music Man, especially with the right Marian. Would he be better than Preston? No. Better than Broderick? Absolutely... but that's not that hard to do.

It was just a thought, you imbecile. I was not "dream casting."

#21

Next for Nathan Lane?

I don't care if Eliza is black, I care if she is 45. If you ever read your Shaw, you would know why that is such bad casting.

And that's not what pretentious means either.

And it's their, not they're

And no Nathan Lane would be awful in the Music Man. You realize he actually has to have chemistry with a leading lady and isn't particularly cartoonish?

#22

Next for Nathan Lane?

Harrold Hill is pretty cartoonish and I realize that Audra is 45. I'm pretty sure that I put that in a thread about "dream casting." I meant that I would've liked to have seen her as Eliza. She can no longer play that role unless it's for a concert where age doesn't matter.

I don't give a flying f*** about you correcting my grammar so how about you stop acting like a 12 year old girl on twitter and grow the hell up?

If someone is pretentious they feel that they must impress people by showing how they're opinion and taste in art and culture is superior. I'm not trying to impress anybody.

I'm sure that Nathan Lane could have chemistry with the actress playing Marian. He's an actor and pretty great one too. I'm sure he could put his own creative spin on it.
