Too soon? Yes, yes, FAR too soon. Really, I just want to confirm that the Roundabout transfer of 'Sunday In The Park With George' will be eligible. It'd be a shame not to have a Sondheim revival to cheer for after 'Sweeney' last year and 'Company' this year.
What else is coming that could be Tony-worthy? 'The Little Mermaid' surely may well end up deserving of technical nods. 'Young Frankenstein' could maybe pull a 'Producers'. Maybe everything that hasn't opened yet will end up sucking and 'Xanadu' will triumph. We just don't know! ^_^

Of course Sunday will be eligible. And a contender, too, hopefully!
With the cast and creative team, I have high hopes for A Catered Affair as well

Ooh, isn't '13' coming to Broadway early next year? I'd like to see some Jason Robert Brown nominations going on if so!

Posted: 6/12/07 at 6:48pmI hear 13 sucks. Depending on how well it's done, Guys and Dolls could be a HUGE contender for Best Revival. Rock 'n' Roll is sure to be a contender for Best Play.

Or you could go to google type it in, go to the old globe website, search playbill, and even search broadwayworld!

Ugh, not looking forward to Guys and Dolls. Though I've never seen a professional production, so maybe that's why.
Is this the London transfer or a new production? Any word on whether Ewan will do it? I'm assuming Jane is busy with 30 Rock

Almost assuredly, the following nominations will occur (assuming that the shows are still open next May -- if not, all bets are off):
Best Actor and Actress for the two leads in Sunday in the Park and for whoever ends up playing Nellie Forbush in South Pacific
Best Revival and Best Director for Sunday in the Park
At least one technical nomination for The Little Mermaid and at least two for Young Frankenstein
Best Play and at least one acting nomination for Rock 'n Roll
Best Score and probably Best Actor for Lin-Manuel Miranda of In the Heights

Posted: 6/12/07 at 8:02pmI think Little Mermaid and Young Frankenstein, will take the sweep at nominations, although this depends on the quality of Little Mermaid(which I think will be the best Disney show), I think it will be awesome to see YF Vs. LM for the Tony Awards!
#15re: Next year's Tony Awards! 8D
Posted: 6/12/07 at 8:05pmI think Sunday will be a major contendor technically. I can see a nom. for Daniel Evans and Jenna Russel as well.

Posted: 6/12/07 at 8:23pmI have this weird feeling that Young Frankstein is not going to meet expectations, so I am not sure it will do as well in the Tonys as it could. I am also unsure whether Little Mermaid will be a serious contender either.

Posted: 6/12/07 at 8:24pmIf "A Tale of Two Cities" comes, it could snag a Set nomination. Not sure on the bigger awards though; has much been improved?

Posted: 6/12/07 at 8:52pmI think that Daniel Evans and Jenna Russel (I believe those are their names) of Sunday... will be contenders in the Actor and Actress category. To my knowledge, they're coming across the pond and they're wonderful! (and Olivier award winning!)
