Just because someone is a "phenomenal talent" doesn't mean that they are right for every role.
While I'm happy that it's at least Nicole Kidman who will do a good job...come on!! Nixon is a decent enough name why on earth not let her do the film? ahh well. this should be interesting to see how the rest of the cast turns out.
ahh sorry you guys...i hate my mac!!
good god triple post!
...damn this is a new record for me.
i apologize
Oh, sorry about that! I thought that it was her Broadway debut. I guess I was thinking of Julia Roberts or something...

I'm very skeptical about this. At least David Lindsay-Abaire is writing the adapted screenplay, so he'll have some more influence as to how the film turns out.
I do wish they would have used the original cast b/c they are all film actors too. Now when I see it, I'm just going to be critiquing the other actors in these roles.
Not to mention, look at how beautifully the HISTORY BOYS movie turned out, all with the original cast, writer and director.
Hollywood bores the sh!t out of me. The same damn actors play every damn part. It's freakin' tiring.
Unlike Broadway where there are different actors all the time, especially in the fantasy casting threads...
Wait, can someome explain logistically how Ms. Nixon did both Hurlyburly and The Real Thing at once?
The roles she played were onstage at different times during the course of the evening - and "Hurlyburly" is an incredibly long play. Her last scene in that one came after her curtain call in "The Real Thing." She would race back and forth between the two theaters.
Oh wow, that's crazy. It must have been hell dealing with makeup and wigs and costumes. And switching characters. Oy. Were both roles sizable featured roles?
Both roles were relatively small, which helped. And she was barely 18 when she did this. Ah, the energy of youth.
