i doubt it really means anything at all - but I do have a friend who swears that Hoi Polloi (from One Short Day) is latin! I think he's a little confused!

I really don't think anyone needs to put up a spoiler alert for Wicked by now.

Hoi Polloi is actually Greek for the common people, but it is usually used to refer to the high class.

I have seen it. I apologize that I don't know Greek ... or how to read The Grimmery for that matter.

Neither have I, just thought you have since you are such a dedicated fan.

I have seen it either. I was just pointing out that it was a real phrase.

I am a fan, but I certainly don't know that much about it! I do have other things to do with my time than translate the score from Wicked!
As for my name ... that was a mistake. I'm from Boston and I guess I thought it would be funny (b/c people say wicked a lot). I do like the show, but for me it had a double meaning. I guess I didn't realize the repercussions seeing that no one else really gets it! Oops. I'll know better in the future!

Have can you translate a score?
Anyways, with the popular part, along with wicked, of course people are gonna make that assumption...it is a Bway board.

I meant translate the lyrics ... whatever it's not important.
And I serioulsy apologize about the name. It was partially to do with Wicked, b/c I assumed everyone on a Bway board would have similar names, but I thought it was especially amusing being from Boston. I had NO IDEA that everyone would think I was some pyscho Wicked fan who spent all of her time either going to see the show or analyzing it! But what can I do now?!?

Yes I did join two days ago, and I'm not ashamed of that. I don't really think anyone is cool or not due to when they realized that this site existed. Anyway how do I change my name? I didn't realize that was an option. I'd be more than happy to do so if everyone would stop being jerks to me.

I would PM RobD and ask him. You'll probably end up having to sign up again, but make sure you talk to RobD first, as he likes to prevent people from having multiple accounts.
I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!

Oh, wickedpop, you kinda stumbled in to a hornet's nest, didn't you. Seriously, the whole wicked name thing is today's tempest in a teapot. Change it if you need to, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. You haven't come across like a member of the coven. It'll all even out.

"After lending my girlfriend the soundtrack to Wicked, she became obsessed with it. During the song No Good Deed, theres this chant she keeps repeating....."eleka nahmen nahmen ah tum ah tum elekah nahmen." she wants to know if it means anything. i couldnt tell her, but I'm sure some of you can! Thanks. "
I haven't a clue as to what it means, but I'm going to assume it means something long the lines of "Let his flesh not be torn, let his blood leave no stain..." etc.

You actually have to say those words in order to enter the Democratic National Convention.
To get into the Republican National Convention just flash your NRA sticker and you'll be fine.

I think if you play the song backward the lyrics say "John is dead"

You might want to look up and see if there's any Wican Chant that uses that, but I highly doubt it. Btw, listen to the song, that's how you know what it means, "Let his flesh not be torn, let his blood leave no stain... Though they beat him let him feel no pain." And so forth. UGH!

And to think I thought she was chanting "Namo, Namo"! I was SO impressed with the attention Namo was getting too & figured that's why he was dissing Wicked so much! ( what do they say about taking Namo's in vain?)

I assume it's the same thing she's singing about.
"Let his flesh not be torn" & so on.
