The hottest show in America Book of Mormon, well I don't want to say it has hit the buffet, that would be sensationalist, but there has been no new Mormon shows this year, don't know where else they could go apart from Australia and a third national tour?
The show could go to Japan and Germany but would the locals get the humour?

Australia really???? , Mr Frost would know how to cast a musical even if there was a how to succeed to cast a musical without really trying . Mr Frost is not into intelligent theatre. He is into big movie musicals without a book and that are easy to sell.
He is BIG on recycling the same old actors and touristy hits. He never does good theatre Legally Blonde really?????

Well if they have enough Mormons, maybe they just ran out of books.
You ask why there have been no new Mormon shows this year and then you proceed to answer it yourself that there's really nowhere new for them to expand. And you do it all in yet another wonderful run-on sentence. There you have it, done and done.
I'm just guessing but maybe that's why people are not responding to your question. That or they have as little interest as I do in being forced to see how many times you've seen Stephen Ward this year.

Australian theatre fans are certainly calling for it...but I'm not too sure whether it would appeal to the general public here due to the cultural references. Although I suppose it has been successful on the West End and there isn't really a huge Mormon population there either...
However, I don't quite understand JRRTolkien's opposition to John Frost. Firstly, it's not as though he is the only producer in Australia. There would be nothing to prevent another producer (e.g. David Atkins, John Robertson, Rodney Rigby, Global Creatures) from securing the rights.
Secondly, I really don't see it being such a bad thing if he were to produce it. Yeah, Legally Blonde didn't end up being so successful. However, Wicked is an absolute smash, Rocky Horror is brilliant, Forum and South Pacific were great and, while I wasn't personally a fan, Grease has done really well. Plus, he also produces new Australian work, like Dr Zhivago, Priscilla and the upcoming Dream Lover. Clearly he is more than capable of putting on a good show!
To me, the real question is, if it does come, who would be cast? I think Rohan Browne could make a good Elder Price. And is Brent Hill too old to play Arnold Cunningham?
