No Tony Preview Concert This Year?

It's usually a week before the ceremony on CBS. That would have been today.

The Tony Awards twitter posted today that there will not be one this year.

When I went to set up the Tonys on my DVR the other day, I noticed that the CBS in my area is showing a program called "At the Tonys" the morning of June 13. It's only a half hour long and it sounds as if it will be highlighting this season's nominated productions. It's not the same as the concert, but I guess I'll take what I can get.

I'm guessing it is because Visa is not a sponsor of the Tonys this year. It is disappointing because they brought along a lot of extras. Hopefully they will sponsor them next year.

That sucks that there was no pre Tony Concert this year, but then again, for some reason, they never aired it in the Seattle area, so I never got to see the last two. For a fairly big theater community we have here, I'm surprised that it didn't show here.
