I saw (and thoroughly enjoyed) the original run at the Lortel back in 2017 but didn't feel the need to revisit this play, but this cast has totally changed my mind!

Kind of hope the [title of show] rumors are true so I can see that, Spring Awakening, and In the Heights all in the same weekend and pretend it's 2008 all over again.

If I had a dollar for every time this person said there was going to be a Spring Awakening revival coming to NYC, I could probably produce my own at this point.

I adore this show and adored this production, so I was excited to catch this today. While I'm firmly in the boat that the editing and camera work was largely disappointing, I still thought the performances (which made this production special) shined through. Groff and Radcliffe were the MVPs, in my eyes, and the chemistry between the three leads is as palpable on screen as it was in the theatre. I'm a huge Samuel D. Hunter fan so I'm likely biased, but I thought this was phenomenal. A top-tier play from him, both funny and heartbreaking, anchored by a knockout performance from Laurie Metcalf. So glad this has found a home on Broadway, and so grateful I got to experience it tonight.

I was excited to get the chance to see this last night after missing it's earlier run, and I'm glad I did. I saw this a few nights ago and agree with what Jordan says - I think my expectations were so lowered going in that I ended up being pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It certainly isn't the greatest thing to hit the stage, but it was an entertaining 90 minutes with some superb vocals and a score that I thought captured the early 2000s pop sound pretty well. I don't necessarily seeing it having a life beyond this production, but I'd definitely give a cast recording a listen should...
