Non-Strike Post Alert: A Benefit This Sunday Featuring the Stars of WICKED ...#1

Hi all,

I don't know if this has been posted, but a friend of mine is working on a benefit that's happening this Sunday, November 25th. It sounds like a lot of fun with some amazing talent -- and it's all for a good cause.

For anyone interested, here are the specs:

WHAT:
Hurricane Noel, which passed through the Dominican Republic earlier this month, left at least 61,000 displaced, caused major flooding, landslides and the destruction of several bridges.

On Sunday November 25, the arts community will band together for a benefit to raise money for the victims of this tragedy at SOB's, the landmark New York venue for Latin and world music. Cast members from "Wicked", "Mary Poppins", "The Color Purple", “Xanadu,” "The Little Mermaid," “Stomp” are scheduled to perform, among others. (In addition, Tony nominee Stephanie Block, Tony winner Carole Shelley, and multiple award winners Julia Murney and Titus Burgess will be performing). All acts are subject to change.

All funds raised will go directly to the victims through Sur Futuro (www.surfuturo.org). Sur Futuro is a not-for-profit organization in the Dominican Republic which works to promote economic development and social responsibility in the Dominican Republic.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $50 and are available through Ticketmaster or the SOB’s box office and website www.sobs.com. For more information on this event please call SOB’s at 212.243.4940. Those who cannot attend but would like to make a donation should send an email to [e-mail].

Event guests will be able to enjoy a raffle/auction with items including a MAC Cosmetics gift bag and a stay at the Maxim Bungalows in the Dominican Republic.

It's sounds like fun. I wish I could go... if only to salsa afterwards with the Broadway Boys

Pssst, you may want to add the word "future" in front of Tony Nominee in regards to Steph (and maybe /winner as well?)
