I have tickets to this event and was wondering if anyone knew anything about what I could expect.
I saw it in Toronto and loved every second of it. It expands upon Life of Brian in the way Spamalot expanded Holy Grail. It's very song orientated, which surprised me when I first saw it. I'm not sure why I expected it to be less musical then it was, but it was worth the 6 hour drive and issues at US Customs to see it. Regardless, I found it to be a really fun evening of music and skits and
(POTENTIAL SPOILER?)
doing a rousing singalong with Eric Idle at the end to "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" was just fun in every way possible.
The Royal Albert Hall DVD does it justice. It's good stuff. If you liked Spamalot, you'll be fine. If you didn't or aren't familiar with Monty Python, I imagine it would still be enjoyable, but not as much.
An upside/downside, depending on how you feel: it's short. Really short. The version I saw was an hour. I know it's longer now, but I think it still clocks in at just under 90 minutes.
Caught this a few years ago at the Hollywood Bowl. It's good fun.
I have never seen this show but I know it's being produced by the Collegiate Chorale- and I did see their Song of Norway at Carnegie last year. They were lovely.
Wow, I knew this show existed, but I didn't know until I saw this thread that they were doing at at Carnegie. I think I might just buy a ticket for it. Thanks for pointing it out!
