"Baby Talk" is an incredibly close parody of "Do-Re-Mi", but the melody is different enough to not be the same song. Legally, It's a parody, one of the few one-to-one parodies in the show, and thus not a legal or copyright issue.

Dawn French is INCREDIBLE but she's 68 and Mary is an incredibly demanding, physically challenging role. I don't know if she could do 8 shows a week of crawling on that desk. I would be genuinely shocked if Rob Madge is not being considered for a UK replacement.

No, the show where a character is named "Mayor Manlove" and the villain is an overbearing judgemental church lady out to make everyone as miserable as she is doesn't endorse conservative values. The lack of media literacy in the world, and the willingness to come on a message board and post about it, is sometimes astounding. Just...do a google search. Read a review. Watch 10 seconds of the tv show on youtube. C'mon.

Nothing is officially announced, but Julian Manjerico is the first cover, he is likely playing the role for the week until Cheyanne Jackson returns on Tuesday. He's excellent, you're in great hands (honestly, I preferred his performance to Simu's.) Martin Landry also covers the role but I don't think he's ever gone on.

Somehow that makes me appreciate his performance even more. The code-switching involved in his work was hysterical and subtle...or as subtle as one can be in this particular show!

Tour is playing San francisco for Three weeks, October 13-21.

This is not a typical tour, from the couple of dates that have been announced, it looks like it is playing week-long stops in a limited number of venues, at least to start with. So I think it's not inconceivable that the entire tour performance window would be six to eight weeks, similar to a broadway contract. I think if we see a "name" on tour, it will likely be Jinkx - this is admittedly based on zero inside knowledge, just the idea that she's the right level of famous to be available but ...

I have to say I agree about Morrison. When I saw him opposite Krakowski, I missed the rage that Ricamora, Nanjiani, and Philip Brennan brought to the role. If Abe is not driven by primal rage and priviledge, his scenes with Mary aren't properly balanced. He's solid; I enjoyed some of his take, but overall not a performance I particularly enjoyed.

Saw the show multiple times in Berkeley; the show's point of view is about a three-way clash of science, the church and faith and it's an interesting piece. The show never takes the easy take of "Science good religion bad" but does take an overall view of the Catholic Church. The show needed some tightening and focus, but there was some great songs and some interesting writing happening - it remains to be seen how much they've changed but I know from a friend in the ensemble they did a worksh...

I've noticed that Tom Nelis has been doing a production of KING LEAR for a short run at La Mama the past few weeks; he's still on or back on the show's website; does anyone know who played Grandfather while he was out? EDIT: Never mind, found it. It was Paul Slade Smith.

It is taking them so long to announce this casting it is starting to feel personal, LOL. Jenn is reportedly staying through January, so I think they're bringing in a new Husband and Teacher.
