It's interesting how you all site that link, but it clearly states: "Please be advised that the posting of links to material located on such servers as YouTube is not permitted." We are not required to pretend that YouTube doesn't exist, as it is clearly used for other thinks besides bootlegs. There's tons of stuff on there that is totally legal. If someone mentions the word "YouTube", they have done nothing wrong. So stop acting like little 11 year old girls with the countdown crap, and maybe read the rules yourselves. Lots of love!

"...and maybe read the rules yourselves..."
Um. They asked for a bootleg. Sounds like you need to do a rereading of the rules yourself. Board rules prohibit bootlegs.
It has nothing with the person mentioning YouTube.

Honey, they never asked for a bootleg. They asked for another place to see the original cast. There, in theory, could be a concert version DVD, a TV show appearance such as The View or whatever, tons of options really. They never asked for a bootleg of the show at the Nederlander. Don't make assumptions.

Posted: 7/30/06 at 9:00pmLizzie, I realize, but my point was that unless someone actually posts a link to illegal material, there is no actual concrete reason for the thread to be deleted. My intention was to make people realize that they sound stupid with the whole countdown business.

Posted: 7/30/06 at 9:50pmSomeone should just post the link, then the thread would vanish. And I think the poster (who enjoys making pointless threads) was asking for a bootleg.

"links online to watch the full show OBC of rent other then you-tube..."
OTHER than YouTube. YouTube is known for having bootlegged material. So one would assume that he is looking for a YouTube-like website. He asked for the FULL show (not clips of TV performances like on the View). Also, a concert version DVD, which you would buy, is viewable in your DVD player...not through a link. Any link online to WATCH the FULL show is ILLEGAL. Anyone should know that a link to a full copy of the show is illegal - it doesn't take a chemical engineer to figure that one out. If there was a full show available, you need to buy it (legally; not a bootlegged copy). So if he was looking for that, he should've asked where he/she could legally buy it. Which they didn't. And a full copy doesn't exist anyway, unless you are willing to watch the movie.

Posted: 7/30/06 at 10:36pmRight I understand this Millie, but I suppose the greater point of my post was lost on all of you. My point was that the original poster might not know if there were or weren't any other resources, and who are we to say that there isn't a website where you can download things legally after paying for them? My point was (and I agree that the poster often makes useless posts, so they shouldn't seek out bootlegs) that we as a community should not constantly jump to conclusions or make assumptions. Until illegal material is posted, no wrong has been committed, so don't act like the biggest crime of all time has just taken place. That's all I am saying.

Well, then he should've been more specific that he was interested in making a purchase. Otherwise you assume that they want a bootleg version. Mods have deleted posts exactly like this before...dunno why they haven't cleaned this one up yet.
Sounds like he's asking for bootlegged material. Asking for it isn't right either.

Well Millie, I agree with you 100% there. I don't agree with the probable intention of the poster original starting of this thread, but I just don't want all of us to be sour pusses and jump to conclusions all the time.
It seems like we're on the same page!

Bjh - have you looked at some of the past posts from "coolkid"?
Madonna as Mimi in RENT - *headdesk*
I think reasons like this are why people jump to conclusions.
