Nick Kroll's announcement on Twitter:

Does anyone know if this is just a video recording of the stage show (aka Shrek, Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking), or a special recording (aka HBO's Lady Day)?
Edit - never mind. Read this in the BWW article "In January, the show announced that OH, HELLO on BROADWAY would be filmed in front of live audiences for broadcast at a future date."
Sounds like they already recorded it while the show was on Broadway. Which would make sense since it's going up fairly soon.
Hooray! I was so surprised by this- didn't know what to expect, but thought it was delightful.
Another stupid question - for folks who maybe saw the show the day it was recorded, anyone know who the special guest will be on this tape?

This seems like a brilliant idea for closed shows like this one.
Netflix has a very large, accessible platform. A lot more people will end up seeing it this way.

If I remember correctly they recorded over a series of two performances. I know one was Michael J Fox. I believe Steve Martin was the other.
A guest montage over the end credits would be nice...

I would love if this started a trend of Netflix taping productions to make available after closing. Such an untapped market and Netflix would be a fantastic partner fir many producers...for the industry as a whole.
Additionally, Nerflix has really established themselves as a presenter of stand up comedy specials, so this particular show has a built in audience. A nice springboard to establish a successful first attempt.

I believe the guest for the Netflix special is David Letterman.
