Hey-
I just rewatched the DVD of "Oklahoma!" starring Hugh Jackman and I wondered if one of you could answer a question I had.
In the transition to the dream ballet at the end of Act I, Laurie (Josefina Gabrielle) is lying on the ground by the cornstalks after inhaling the smelling salts, but when she gets up to begin the ballet, her shoes have suddenly changed from boots with heels to flat boots/ballet shoes. Now, I know that they filmed much of that version in a studio, but they must've managed it somehow during the production and I've never seen a quick change THAT quick. Has anyone here seen the production, or simply knows how they did it? My friend and I have been racking our brains and nothing's making sense.

I know how it was done but I won't ruin the suspense describing the simple trick, which isn't really a trick at all.
Let's just say... there's more than corn in dem stalks.
Sorry.

I noticed that, too.
Could there have been a double running through the corn rows while Josefina did a quick change with her shoes and she came out with her dancing shoes?
Sorry if that is a lame guess - LOL!

I remember her being in her dress and already wearing the ballet shoes. My memory could be deceiving me, though. To be perfectly honest, I wasn't focusing on her shoes. I was letting the projected moving clouds distract me from what was a dreary revival.
