re: OMG.. A VERY BRADY MUSICAL...

You knew it would eventually be in the works. Sherwood Schwartz has hocked the show out so oftened before it was bound to happen. :)

re: OMG.. A VERY BRADY MUSICAL...

I wish this tv-to-Broadway and movie-to-Broadway thing would just go away.

I'd love to see a fresh, original musical overtake the current lineup....

Yes, but it is getting incredibly commercialized - I mean Shrek? Brady Bunch? Come ON! It's too "theme park."

re: OMG.. A VERY BRADY MUSICAL...

I think that it depends on the movie/book. Some are very well done, while others are a huge mistake. I don't think this is a good idea. I'm sure that Shrek will be very sucessful, though.

re: OMG.. A VERY BRADY MUSICAL...

I'm 46 years of age and I recall the 1970's with a great degree of fondness. HOWever, while "The Brady Bunch" had a certain appeal, it was also too icky sweet. After the "Brady Bunch" went off the air, some "genius" developed the "Brady Bunch Variety Hour". This has been labeled the worst variety program in the history of television, by some. It ran from January 1977 -- May 1977, for a grand total of eight episodes (not including the pilot show). It turns out that Eve Plumb was the "smart" one. She opted not to take part in that travesty. This idea for a musical is about as smart as having a vampire themed musical. (...and we know how THAT turned out.) from RC in Austin, Texas.. where it's a sunny 75 degrees.

Brady Bunch Variety Hour
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

What are you talking about RC, "Brady Bunch Variety Hour" ROCKS. I even have the DVDs!

I'm pretty damn stoked for this.

I'd be more worried if they were going to take themselves seriously. The show seems to be poking fun at the Bunch instead which could work. Marsha dates for money? Mike and Carol actually attempt to have sex? We'll just have to wait and see.
