My main problem with digital downloads is that they're only offered at 256kbps. CD is just better quality.

"All of you guys/gals have to get a clue and buy a vowel...As much as some of you love physical CDs that format is dormant if not downright dead...the majority are downloading music...that is the norm. Some are not even doing that...they are streaming from Spotify, Pandora or Apple music. "
Collecting digital files is not the same as collecting CDs. There is something particularly satisfying about holding the CD, looking through the booklet, and storing it on the shelf next to all the other cast recordings. Satisfaction x2 if there are albums to collect. And although it is easy to download an out of print cast recording, nothing beats the thrill of the chase looking for the physical object.

Digital downloads are fine for people who can't tell the difference in quality. They suck. MP3s are severely and noticeably compressed if you play them on a regular sound system and not your ear buds.
They are not for collectors.
