Hi everyone on Broadwayworld.com!
My name is Kathryn Lyles and I have been posting here for a while -- and I always noticed a wonderful devotion and passion regarding new works, good works... absolutely everything musical theater.
I am writing today because I am a part of an up and coming theatre company in Philadelphia called the Revolution Theatre Company... a theatre dedicated to both new and exicting works as well as classic pieces that promote humanity.
that being said-- I had a feeling that many of the avid fans who post on this forum were more than just fans and might in fact have original pieces that we could possibly produce.
If you have written an original play, musical, opera, song cycle, performance piece.. etc- let us know! we'd LOVE to read it and maybe your work could get a philadelphia debut!
If you'd like to send us your scripts or just email for more information-- or to say hello and show support-
our email is currently:
Revolution_Theatre_Co@Yahoo.com
thank you so much!!!

Kathryn,
I was extremely excited to see your post. I am a theatre student in the PA area who will be attending Temple University in Philadelphia for the fall 2005 semester. I've been trying to find a theatre internship with a worthwhile theatre company. Does Revolution Theatre Company offer any interships to students, or is there any way I could possibly apply for a part time job with you guys this fall? I would appriciate any information you can give me. Thank you so much!
Tim

I just wanted to respond on here to get your thread back to the forefront of the message boards amid all these stupid other threads about Wicked (ENOUGH ALREADY CHILDREN). Your theater company sounds awesome, and it's things like this that should be being discussed here, not how good our cousin's high school production of Once Upon a Mattress was.

hi everyone--- well... to answer all the questions:
1- there is no deadline... we're just interested in finding new and exciting pieces to perform... so no stress
2- we cast all types of people-- our upcoming performance is all college age students simply because that's what best suits it.. but i know at least one of the productions we're planning for next year includes people much older than college age... so really it just depends on the requirements of the piece and the availability of the actors.
any other questions i am glad to answer...

I think what you're doing is great.
It's a great way to give opportunities to those talented "unknowns" out there.
