MTC's new play with Linda Lavin that opened to tepid reviews/box office figures ends it's limited run today. Did you enjoy it? Do you think it'll be remembered come award season?
Saw this a few weeks ago. Curious to see what others thought. Lavin was fun (and reminiscent of every tristate Jewish mother, mine included) but the show was just too stilted for me.
I also may have been the only person under the age of 50 in the audience.
I wonder if that poor soul who was trying to unload a full price ticket for the last show ever did. It would have been miracle on par with Moses parting the Red Sea for him to have pulled it off.
I enjoyed Lavin enough and thought the twist was interesting, they just didn't do anything with it. It'll be interesting to see if it gets any nominations.
It has about the same chance of being nominated as any show other than the one at the Richard Rodgers has of having a shot in hell of winning Best Musical.
