Heading to the city the week of April 24. I usually love to catch a few off Broadway shows. I’m not seen a lot of options. What are the Off Broadway shows to see right now?
We're in a bit of a lull right now, for Off-Broadway (of course there are still things playing, but not a ton).
If you like a kind of zany, absurd style, I hight recommend Regretfully So The Birds Are at Playwrights Horizons. I had a ton of fun with it - it's a wild ride.
And you'll be there for the final week of The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart, at the McKitrick - a fun play with music, staged immersively, with some light spooky elements.
Titanique is also a fun time, if it seems like it's up your alley.
Other than that, not much that I've personally seen that I'd recommend. White Girl in Danger will still be playing, though personally I'm not inclined to recommend it. A lot of things start performances soon, like:
Fuente Ovejena starts at TFANA on 4/28
The Fears, starts 4/25
Terence Blanchard's new opera, Champion, just started (? or will soon) at the Met
Fiasco has a co-production with Red Bull Theatre, Knights of the Burning Pestle, which starts next week.
There's also Shadow/land, which starts at the Public next week.

Titanique hands down hysterical, one of the best nights I've had in theater all season can't reccomend it enough
Plays for the Plague Year was pretty good although long, can't go wrong with Suzan-Lori Parks
Regretfully So the Birds Are was absolute torture, nonsensical and dreadful writing that's the only one I would avoid
God of Carnage is starting at Theater Row soon, I would watch out for the early buzz on that one

Ha, to each their own! It’s one of my favorite shows of the season so far, but it’s definitely a play that makes strong choices which I guess happen to be right up my alley.
FWIW I thought Plays for the Plague Year was not very good at all. Just goes to show!
I’d recommend the OP check it out and see if it looks to be to their taste.
