Hi All! I am a complete Broadway World virgin...but found this as I was searching for some JLY fansites...and what can I say? I feel like I've come home! I live in London and have only got to see the show the once (so far!) but once was enough to fall head over heels. Great to read your stories and experiences - I especially love your personal pics - Meryl's look AMAZING!!!!
WOW!!! Thanks so much for such a gorgeous welcome!
In answer to your question Alejandra925 - I saw JB in May on my first trip to NY. Saw several other shows too - but nothing, NOTHING compared....I only wish I saw JB 5 times instead of seeing 4 other shows!! (scary huh?) Apart from the fact I totally fell for JLY (I get the suspicion I'm not alone with that?!!!) I could not pin point one aspect that made it stand out - it was the overall experience to be honest. The story, the set, the acting, the singing...the fact that is biographical. Now all I do is play my soundtrack (I'm on my 3rd copy from Amazon!) and look forward to the day I can see it again...
I'm hoping that it will come to London in the next couple of years....keep hearing rumours. Anyone hear anything about that on here?
btw jerseyboyslover...I don't have myspce yet...but as soon as I do I'll let you know!x
Welcome JLY's Jersey Gal....I'm pretty new on here too!
It amazes me that JLY writes back to everyone...he must spend ALL his spare time (if he ever gets any) sending replies...Amazing, amazing guy.
I have written once and was so thrilled with my reply - but I have noticed some of you have written more than once...I'm dying to write again - but was thinking he'd get annoyed that I was being greedy!!! ADVICE PLEASE!!!!

You guys may know this already but just seen on the West End board that Cameron Macintosh is bringing JB to London at the Novello Theatre in April 2007........I almost fell off my chair.
well every British person I have spoken to who has seen JB appreciated it as much as I did...(granted, I can count them on two hands....!)
but at the end of the day it's an incredible story, with some amazing songs and a fantastic production....the fact that it has specific humour to New Jersey or New York as you say is irrelevant (in my opinion) the crowds over here will totally love it....who could not? I'm sure that goes for Australia and anywhere else it is looking to open in too.
In some ways it probably helps....part of the beauty of theatre is the ability to 'whisk' you away - so with that in mind even though we will be watching in sat in a playhouse in London...we will be transported to New Jersey with the story...if that makes any sense!!
Do you feel it will not be received too well over here then TennesseeTwang? Updated On: 8/30/06 at 10:12 AM
Just curious, but were shows like Movin' Out or Rent well received in London or elsewhere?
Movin out didnt last too long unfortunately - even though James Fox is pretty big over here (he was in a music talent show in the UK) - and apparantly RENT has bombed. I have been defending JB on the west end board as some people don't feel it will be a success and it will be swallowed up by the huge publicity of Dirty Dancing - but I still have faith. Hell, I'm gonna be there every night I possibly can anyway!! I know as soon as word travels it will be massive and a breath of fresh air.
Curious about something....am I the only sad person who checks the number counter on John's site to see how many visitors he gets???? Please someone else say yes!!! Updated On: 9/1/06 at 03:58 AM
I think audiences thought it was going to be more of a 'jukebox musical' (hate the phrase - but I think you know what I mean....)and then they turned up to see a 'rock ballet' as you aptly described it! Shame as James Fox is very pleasing to the eye (!) and I love Billy Joel.
JB has to be a success here. I've been telling the world and his dog about it.
Have you seriously not seen the counter on the bottom of the home page???!!! *BLUSHING*
I'm hoping to see Jersey Boys on Sunday with my friend. We are going to get up pretty early!
I didn't know Matthew Scott had a website? Anyone have the link?

You can add me to that list... I love JLY. He is such a sweetheart and I so happy I've been able to see him twice as Frankie, meet him and exchange emails and cards with him.

Sorry it took me awhile to say hi back to all of you. I've been super busy. But JLY just made my day this weekend as I got another card back from him... He is super fast. I was sad that JLY was out on September 3 when I saw Jersey Boys for the 3rd time but Michael was fabulous and such a sweetheart.
PM me if you are on myspace and want to add me as your friend.
