Is she better than Shoshana, or should I say, very different?
Sadly, I didn't see Sho when I saw it in NYC..I saw Saycon, WHICH she is much better than in my opinion. From what I've heard I think Jenna does a better acting job than Sho does, But I didn't see her so I can't judge!
From the clips I've heard of her singing, I like Jenna's voice better but I'm probably just biased...:)

from what I've seen (illegally, mind you) of Sho, Jenna is better.
She's different than Stephanie. Good, but different.
I agree Lily, different, I'd say less intense, but difently great in the role!!!

When you say intense, does Stephanie still bring comedy to Elphaba? Thanks for answering my questions!
i love jenna!! YAY!! FOR ANYONE WHO SAW WICKED TOUR AND WENT TO STAGEDOOR TO MEET JENNA, CAN YOU PLEASE E MAIL ME A COPY OF THE PIC?? I would love to post them on my Jenna Leigh Green Fansite
By intense (lemme see if I can make this sensible!) I mean she actually scared me during No good Deed, it was like she was actually going crazy. Some of her earlier movements (the wizard and I for ex) are very telling of what is to come as well. She is obviously a normal girl but misunderstood and she does have an awkward-ness about her in the beginning. As teh show (and her character) progress she gets frightening, which makes it understandable that others think of her as a Wicked Witch!
Jenna is wonderful at this growth too, and by no means do I mean this as an insult, but Stephanie's is much more noticeable and in-your-face than Jenna's approach. Both ways work wonderfully!
I THOROUGHLY enjoy both actresses in the role and wish I could see them both a 100,000,000 times!
ANd BTW I love answering your questions! I'm happy to answer any!
and Broadwaybelter I hope to go back and get you even MORE pics!!
Not to be racist..or anything, but I've heard from my friend that Saycon added her own little "black" humor to it. For example, the line "Well, we can't all come and go by bubble."
She added a little sass to "bubble" so it sort of "ghetto-fied" it, so it sounded like, "Well, we can't all come and go by buhbuhl.
I would say that's a very true statement Aigoo!
I found her singing to be very R&B which doesn't really work for MT. And while I liked her voice (and she has the notes!) I didn't like her in the role, she wasn't very convincing to me and she closed words quickly and almost stacatto-d things that were supposed to be held! Does that make sense?

Funny story about a dumb ass mistake i made...Online trying to get tickets thru ticket master, and under the heading "wicked" found tickets (so I thought) for 10$ for the 11:00 show! SO, I snapped up 3 of them , and then proceeded to call everyone I know screaming about it. Imagine how stupid I felt when my mom called me back to explain that I had just bought 3 tickets to tour the theater BEFORE the show. ARRRGGGGG! At least they gave me my money back...
