I saw last nights show. Were you there? Did you go outside to see the actors? I totally scared Derrick Williams with my sudden burst of sobs. It was my first time seeing it. How many times have you seen it? I am totally obsessed now. I am buying the cd A.S.A.P., I need every kind of wicked t shirt there is, and I need to like, be part of every fan club. I am going to try to get back there with my husband. How do you get those cancelled tickets? Any good places for discounted seats? All of the ones I have seen are more than 200 dollars.

I got my cancellation tickets god knows how..the women at the Box Office remembered I needed one ticket and called me over to the window when a few seats opened up! I was at the stage door...I was the girl that Derrick said "Stephanie!?" to! he remembered me from last time and was talking to me for a while. I saw the show in NY and then once in Chicago on May 5th so a total of 3 times (I also have tickets for the sit-down in July).

Don't ever spend $200 for tickets! the most you should ever pay is $80..and always get them from the Box Office or Ticketmaster!
I didn't see anyone crying--and Derrick is so nice he probably wasn't scared! :)

I just want to say that it is so refreshing to be around (well I guess not really around) people that appreciate broadway!! I LOVE WICKED!! I thought I was the only obsessed person in this world due to the fact that I live in a small rural town in Michigan - Everyone here mocks me and my WICKED - I get so angry, because these small towners can't even appreciate real talent - their too busy being mesomorized by the two-bit talent that's plaguing our media today!

Anyway, I am sooooooo excited because on JUNE 10th, I am seeing WICKED in Chicago - I've been praying for the past month that I would get to see Jenna as Elphaba, but being as though this is my first time seeing WICKED, I think that I'll be happy with anyone playing Elphaba: I'm moving to Chicago on June 5th for college, and I'm afraid that I'll be doing lottery on every free day of my college career!

Anyway, Thankyou Stephanithestar for your exciting review - you've definately made my day - but just one question -

I definitely need directions to stage door at the Oriental - In December (when I was younger and more naive) I went and saw Mama Mia at the Oriental, and In my "very-first-show-ever" dillusion, I thought that if you waited in the foyer the actors would come there to mingle re: Oh--MY--GAWD! My Wicked review with Jenna as Elphaba/Chicago

Anyway, directions would be great - thanks!!!!

OK! I'll try to direct you to the stage door...and thanks for being nice :)

when LEAVING the doors of the theatre (the ones by the Box Office) go RIGHT...then walk down that street for a while and you will see a parking garage next to an alley, if you look down the alley you should see a sign that says stage door. just walk about halfway down that alley and you will see the door (there is a green sign on the door as well that says "Wicked Stage Door"...

Hope those helped! Hopefully I'll be there around the 10th since the last day for the tour is the 12th..I wanna say bye to the cast!

I was in no way, shape, or form, mocking or poking fun at Stephanie. I was truely touched by this beautiful musical, and I was excited to have a forum to rave about it in. I have no idea what would make you think I would try and hurt Stephanie's feelings. I think she sounds like a lovely girl. If you think I am a dork for being so over the top for my feelings about this play, I cant help that. And also, now I feel a little ashamed to express myself in this forum because obviously, there is at least one person waiting in the wings to pounce and attack every word thats said. Stephanie, you sound adorable, and your enthusiasm is fantastic! I guess there is truley always someone waiting to rain on your parade. Jesus Christ.

You sound very cynical, and NEWSFLASH - you dont know what the hell your talking about. There are actually nice people in the world, although your obviously not one of them.

I went to the show/stage door on Tuesday as well. I was so impressed with Jenna. I actually liked how Nessas understudy played the role. But yes, the show was amazing. All of the cast members at the stage door were beyond nice. I felt sorry for the ensemble members because no one really wanted them. I wanted to take Logan Lipton home with me - very nice guy. He talked about how he always tried the lottery for NYC Wicked and never won. So, yeah, the group of teeny bobbers that were at the stage door got old really fast, so we just kinda hung out in the back and waited for them to get to us :). It was a fun night. Go see Wicked and be happy.

Guerin! I DO remember you! I heard that convo! that was when I was waiting for him to sign my playbill! soo funny.

Lori, sorry again for the confusion..it's just I've had so MANY people who would have said something like that sarcastic and it's hard to catch what is and what isn't!

I love that wherever I go there is like 3 BWW posters there!

I thought Jenna's "No Good Deed", was pain-stakingly BAD. Way to whiny, and closed up. She sounded like she was in pain, and just screeching the notes out of her nose. I didn't care for her voice. Her acting left much to be desired, and had little chemistry with the cast. I really wanted to like her, but I was finding it more and more difficult as the show progressed. She needs work...fast.

WOw..I find that the opposite of how I felt! BUT I repect your opinion.

I thought her No Good Deed was GREAT..she amazed me..she added some extra high notes too.

I will point out though that she didn't take the low note on Not that Girl...I was a little disappointed. but the rest of her performance I found amazing, she leagues ahead

What did you think of Lori (u/s Nessa)?? I found she was extremley disappointing..i think I could have done a better job and I'm not anywhere near the talent of many of the people on that stage!

No problem about that misunderstanding. It seemed she wanted you to feel bad or something. How many times have you seen the show? If I buy the cd, will I be better to critique it and know how the songs are supposed to be sung? When is Jenna and Stephanie done, because Ana Gasteyer is taking over...

I've seen the show once in NY, and now 2 times in Chicago.
Buy the CD..it's also amazing, but I wish it was more full. Many things you hear in the show do not show up on the cd so it kinda sucks in that respect. Idina is at her best on the CD as well, but I find Stephanie's performance better than Idina's best (don't throw things at me!)
THe touring cast leaves June 12, the sit down with Ana comes in the 24th I believe :)

Thankyou Stephanie for your wonderful directions! Maybe I will see you at the stage door on the tenth. Anyway; I am slightly dissapointed, because there is no way Jenna will fill in for Stephanie Block two days before closing in Chicago, but I am soo excited anyway. Around mid-July, I'm going to try lotto for the new Wicked cast in Chicago. (I'm going to see the Lion King on the 20th, and I'm going to try Wicked lotto at the matinee on the 20th: two shows in one day would be great :)

Thanks again for your great directions Staphanie! I know they will come in handy.

The good news actor--is that Jenna is AMAZING as Nessa, I was disappointed by her u/s Lori. This is also Stephanie's role all the way. So you'll definetly enjoy the show!

and yes maybe I'll see you there..I really need to say good bye! I love this cast!

Well, I dont think there is any way I will get back to see it before they leave. I guess Ana Gasteyer will be the Elphaba then. I cant really picture her as Elphaba cuz Jenna was so pretty, but, whatever. Has anyone seen lion King? I am going to see it on July 30.

Yeah..I think Ana will be good..but from what I've heard I can't possibly see her being better than Stephanie or Jenna. they both BLEW me out of the water. but I'm sure Ana won't disappoint.

AND I can't wait for Kristoffer Cusick! I heart him! but I'm going to miss the touring company soooo much!

Do you think Jenna is better than Stephanie. Or are they really different? I haven't seen either so I am just wondering.

It was actually really hard to judge that. I loved loved loved Jenna's portrayal..and I think for only going on less than a dozen times she is AMAZING. Her voice was gorgeous and the character choices she made were right on. However, I was soooo blown away by Stephanie when I saw her I still have the feeling NOTHING can top her. The day I saw her was one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen. (I put that performance in the catagory of Jefferson Mays in I am my own wife, SUtton in Little Women) I couldn't believe I was NOT seeing Elphaba. Everything she did was right on and it was like I was seeing the show for the first time. Everything felt new. SO, Jenna is a close second and I think with some work she could tie and be a totally different but just as wonderful Elphaba!

Wait, I didn't really answer your "are they different" question. Stephanie is way more intense as Elphaba. Jenna has the same growth into the scary wicked witch that Steph has but it comes a bit later I think. Steph has so much anger during No Good Deed, and Jenna did too, but it wasn't as frighteningly scary as Steph's. A lot of there character choices are similar, but Jenna DOES NOT copy, she has her own way of saying things and brings something different.

I'm blessed to see both of these girls! ahh

I have to go back... have to... I want to see Stephanie! Is there any other way to get tickets for the touring cast besides the lottery and cancellations? (I'm pretty sure normal tickets are completely sold out)
