haven't seen a post about this yet.. so sorry if there is one, but
what do people think of Kristin Chenweths new christmas cd??
personally... i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it. i love her a lot, but sometimes she can get a little high and operatic, but this is such a soothing cd, and so mellow... omg i love this cd!
Actually, I just heard it- and I love it as well. The new and the traditional work so well here. I'll be listening to this one a lot for the next six weeks, along with the new Carols for a Cure.
I previewed the tracks on iTunes and I gotta say...I wasn't too thrilled.
It just sounded a bit too country for my taste. Maybe I had too high expectations. I was so looking forward to Cheno's beautiful voice crooning Christmas classics.
But I might change my mind and pick it up closer to the Holiday season.
I thought this was going to be about something else compltly. Maybe im just out of loop and its really old but I just saw a video yesterday of her holding an intervention and I was cracking up but I didnt post it for fear that it was really old and im just stupid that way. I love cheno and though Im not one to listen to christmas music (maybe cuz well im a jew) I still might take a listen just for her voice.
oh, i would def give this a listen, even if you are jewish.. i mean, elliot yamin did a christmas cd.. wtf??
Lol but i really think this is one of the best christmas cd's in a while, cuz, well.. its cheno :)
I love Sleighride/Marshmellow World.. such a clever song :)
I thought this was going to be an Asian thing, like,
Oh Yoko.
I've been a HUGE Kristin fan for several years, but I think her Christmas album is awful. Bad song choices, horrible arrangements, one step up from elevator music. Sorry Kristin.
I do love her other two albums.

I listened to it on iTunes and only downloaded (bought) one song. The rest was so bad.
I previewed on iTunes as well, and was disappointed that she went pop/country for the majority of the CD instead of classical. I thought this would be the PERFECT place for her to sing some good Christmas standards in all of her glorious soprano, and then throw a couple country tracks in just for funsies.
glad to hear someone agrees it was too country! It didn't struck me as a Christmas album to be honest.
But please, it's still cheno so I wouldn't quite call it elevator music now, come on.
After hearing the songs on itunes, I had to have it! It's fun. And I love the country parts, too.
yeah! i think its different, and its not like its bluegrass country... i love it! especially when she says "friends are calling... YOU HOO!" in sleigh ride :) its my fav part
Some of the songs I like, some I'm not too fond of the arrangements. Either way, I enjoy listening to it because it's a pleasure listening to her gorgeous voice.
Theatreboy49- Yeah...that video has been out for a few months. But it is absolutely hilarious, isn't it? :)
I can't wait to hear the album! I haven't gotten to Christmas music yet...

I HATE Christmas CD's. They get on my nerves.
