do we really want to start telling people NOT to come to Broadway? I personally would not waste a nickel on her, but she does have a big following and any buzz for one show, is buzz for all

I never thought she was very good, and she's been very irresponsible allowing anti-science nonsense which all the bored housewives eat up like so much cottage cheese.

Oprah is also in the new Forrest Whitaker movie. I don't remember the name but it looks pretty good. Haven't seen much of her in the trailer though. I bet if she was just Oprah onstage people will praise her for her performance. Probably will end up in at least a Tony nomination.

Oprah's new movie is called "The Butler" and has nothing to do with Rhett. It sounds fantastic and I hope to see it this weekend when it opens in the DC area. I think Oprah plays the title character's wife.

As someone who's actually been part of a bid to bring Oprah to the legitimate stage, I can say she'd most likely be arriving in a drama.

The details of the show we offered her are subject to confidentiality, except to say that it's a modern update of an established piece (one of Ibsen's better-known plays), but she would be perfect for it.

Since 2005, I've been lucky enough to be involved in a ton of Broadway-bound projects. Due to the nature of the business, especially in recent economic climates, they've tended to be of the "always a bridesmaid, never a bride" variety, but things are looking really good of late.
