The frenzy has hit the OC and I've been handed the duty of posting a picture. Was not there myself but may try my lotto luck once the tour makes it's stop. Apparantly there were 200+ in line!

My niece was there and said it was a madhouse! The picture is courtesy of her this morning in Costa Mesa, California.
(Sorry I don't have the time to learn the finer techniques of downloading pics, but I admire Popular's continued kindness and sensitivity, again and again)
Tickets are going like hotcakes, expensive hotcakes.

6/19/06 = Tickets on sale at 10:00 am = roof only access just to find parking...My desperation led me down the stairs to the ground floor only to find my fellow Wicked ticket seekers at the same demise of my own.
I knew if I didn't take that photo that my Uncle would harass me for days.
Opting now for the lotto, box office here I come....see you guys in line! Good Luck!

Posted: 6/20/06 at 1:20amI called at 10 am and the lines were busy. I tried for an hour straight and they were still busy. At 11, I went online, but the server was too busy because of too many people. I box office closed at 6, so I called again at 5:50, and was the 40th person on hold. They kept it open to get everybody on hold, and I was able to get a FIRST ROW TICKET- ( no kidding!)- that nobody had snatched up for a matinee. I think they are like 99% sold out, and will probably be gone by tomorrow.

Posted: 6/20/06 at 4:59amI have never seen anything like the phenomanal success of this show wherever it goes. When it played L.A. a year ago, it was sold out before it opened. It will be in San Diego and it is sold out. In Orange County, it will be sold out before it opens. I was in New York last week and it was sold out the whole week I was there. Sigh, I wish I had money in this show.

YAY WICKED!
This is pretty amazing. LOVE to see it's success and people showing the love for this *great* show... especially after some rude people bashing it and making terrible threads ... *sigh*
Thanks for all the info

Wow, this isn't surprising for me--my grandmother got me tickets for the show in Pittsburgh for my birthday and then my mom tried to get them too. IT was sold out by noon here. My mother and my grnadmother both ended up getting tickets, but my mom had to stake out the Internet from 7-12 on the morning they went on sale and my aunt had to go out early in the morning and stand in line for the ones that my grandmother wanted. My mom ended up selling the ones she got--some wires crossed and they didn't know they were both getting me tickets. Oh well. My mom made a few bucks off of the tickets anyway and another happy little teenager got to see the show.
Funny thing is, when we had an extra ticket the night of the show (one of the people we were going with couldn't make it) we had the hardest time finding someone to take it.

Posted: 6/20/06 at 9:41amIts fun to see a real, honest to goodness smash hit blockbuster musical again. I can remember the absolute furor when PHANTOM opened and began touring the country. It was just pandamonium getting tickets. Forget LION KING or THE PRODUCERS, WICKED is the only show that has come near that crazy success!

Posted: 6/20/06 at 8:09pmTickets for Tempe were equally crazy. My mom logged onto Ticketmaster to get tickets at 10:01(it opened at 10:00) and we wanted to get 5 tickets but she could only get 3! The seats aren't that great either they are 2nd row on the balcony. My mom called the theatre to see why there were pracically no tickets and they said because they season ticketholders get first pick of the tickets.

There is now a message when you call the box office that it is sold out.
Pop - I may be willing to road trip with you one night to try and get lotto tickets.

Posted: 6/20/06 at 9:08pmThis sucks. I was trying to get tickets forever today, only to be told that they were no longer on sale. I guess that means I won't be going. I don't think I can drive 7 hours to lotto :)

Posted: 6/20/06 at 9:13pmstrange thing is that in detroit, it was def. not sold out any of the times I was there. And the two times i went to the lotto, there were less than 50 people there. The first time on a saturday night there were like 35 people there maybe and the second time only 2 people didn't get tickets! So maybe detroit just sucks.

Roadtrip (or an hour drive) to Costa Mesa.
I would not mind seeing this again, even though the extended run is coming to LA in 2007. I would like to see Julia Murney if possible before she leaves . . .
So, I am up for it Pop.
