OCU Stripped, the student-run musical theatre organization at Oklahoma City University is currently accepting submissions of new musical theater works for a series of free performances at Oklahoma City University in February 2011.
45-minute, semi-staged excerpts will be presented from three different musicals in two free performances at OCU’s Petree Recital Hall with actors chosen from the performing arts student body. We are looking for completed scores and scripts. You may choose to submit a full version with to be cut by our student directors OR submit a 45-minute version of your piece.
OCU’s Bass School of Music is renowned for its exceptional training of musicians in the liberal arts tradition. For eighty years its graduates have been in demand as singers, conductors, composers, instrumentalists, educators, critics, and commentators. Bass School of Music alumni include Grammy, Tony, and Emmy award winners. It is the only school in the world to be both an all-Steinway institution and a member of the National Alliance for Music Theater. Over the past decade, students have enrolled from forty-eight states and five continents.

Blackwelder Oklahoma City OK, 73106 PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING (If you would like your submissions returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your application): * CD or mp3 files of three songs with sheet music (lead sheets are acceptable) * A brief description of each song as to its plot placement * A brief synopsis of the musical including time period and number of scene locations * A character breakdown including age, sex, approximate vocal part and a short description of each character. * Biographical information for each composer, lyricist & book writer. (Please include address/phone number/email)

Works cannot be considered without these. * If the piece is currently under option, please submit a letter from the option holder giving permission for entry.
