It's a pity that more people don't remember Bea Lillie, nowadays. I never got to see her live, but this film is a nice little taste. Though having Bea Lillie in a musical and not giving her a song is a waste of a natural resource.

Bea Lillie could never have handled a song in MILLIE. She couldn't even remember her lines. She was quite senile. Today, she would most likely be diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Julie Andrews would stand off to the side and feed the lines to her. She would just repeat what she heard Julie say, even the interpretation.
