I was lucky enough to see Piaf while I was in London and can say this for the show. Rogers is incredible an almost made me forget how weak the actual play was. The book was truly awful. But if anything she proved to be an amazing actress.
I saw Hodge in La Cage as well and loved him.
I don't know if it was even elgible this year since its been around, but I am surprised there was no mention for war horse. I saw it twice and thought it was one of the most incredible things I have experienced in a theater.

Posted: 3/10/09 at 2:10pm"War Horse" is a revival from 2007, and it was eligible for last year's awards, and won quite a few if I remember correctly. I'm not actually sure what the rules are about revivals being nominated (obviously it's eligible if it's a completely new production, like the current "La Cage") - the Oliviers seem to make the rules up as they go!
