'Olivier' Half Year Round Up.

We are over half way through the year, which means we are we are half way through the 2010 Olivier judging period.

Just thought it be cool to look at what's about so far this year and have we got any contenders for a Olivier already?

Please feel free to stick another show or actor/actress down if I have missed one out.

I am a bit rubbish at plays, but guess All There Sons and La Bete be in there, hopefully someone like Weez or Mark who is bored in Sunderland will indulge us a bit more?

Also need a Best Comedy?

'Olivier' Half Year Round Up.

Pretty sure Chocolate Factory productions are not eligible for Olivier Awards unless they transfer to the West End, so that rules those out.

I can't see anything other than Legally Blonde winning from what has been on at the moment, but Love Story could very well change all that. On the Revival front, I think Hair/Sweet Charity are going to be the only two competitors this year. I could see it going either way to be honest.

Duncan is a featured role, not lead, but I can't see him being nominated in that category over Alex Gaumond anyway. From the leading ladies, Tamzin/Sheridan/Sierra are on quite a level playing field in my opinion. Add to that Victoria Hamilton-Barrit who will be leading Flashdance and Emma Williams in Love Story you have an extremely strong year for Leading Actresses in the West End.

For revival of a play goes to All My Sons or After the Dance. Best actor awards hands down has to go to David Suchet for All My Sons. He is giving an incredible performance.

So far for new plays they have been abit give or take.My top pick would be Holding the Man, really great play.
