Omigod You Guys...its Friday!

I really have been away far too long, it seems like ive fallen off the BWW wagon :P
So hows everyones week been? I thought seeing as we always have a topic...that this one should be:
"What things this week have happened to you that have a relation to theatre?"
My list goes something like:
- Thursday i was in London, i went to see Hairspray :) great cast still, who keep getting better!! On my way to The Shaftesbury, i walked past The New London and saw the huge huge HUGE "Imagine This" billboard/marquis thing! i do quite love the artwork...
- found out my performing arts a level exam piece is Little Shop of Horrors
- got Twelfth Night tickets :)

im sure ill think of some more, but yeh Friday night posting...what a long old week its been!

re: Omigod You Guys...its Friday!

Hmmm... okay. Last Saturday, I saw '...some trace of her' and 'Six Characters in Search of an Author'. Then I heard about the National's plans for 2009 and got very excited. Then the reviews for 'Ivanov' came in and I got even more excited. Then the Donmar started spilling secrets about what they're doing next spring and I got more excited still. And I went to the library to do some coursework this afternoon (hey, it's totally theatre-related).

Oh, I also got a freaky email from the National today thanking me for going to see '...some trace of her' and suggesting I might like to see 'Waves'. Or some other stuff. Or do some things. I don't understand how all the advertising makes it to my email account, and now I'm receiving "thank you" emails, but I've never once received a booking confirmation email. What the hell is THAT all about?

In non-theatre-related stuffs, it's a week of heartbreak. The stray cat I used to share part ownership in (along with just about every other resident of Bath) was put down on the 9th, and he hasn't been out of the media since.

How many of YOU had a cat in the Times? XD Also Bill Bailey won't be returning to 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' this series, which is TREMENDOUSLY sad. re: Omigod You Guys...its Friday!

Happy Friday, y'all. I'm going back to watching 'Oz'. ^_^

Saw Well last weekend and lloyd webber thingy.
Um despite the reviews still cant bribe anyone to come to ivanov.
Bought no tickets this week. Though Priscilla is tugging at my credit card.

Am shocked at the cat in the times. Downstairs neighbour adopted a stray tom that was putdown last year, she now feeds bloomin pigeons and crack squirrels.

re: Omigod You Guys...its Friday!

Okay, first time I've posted in one of these Friday threads.

Saw Fiddler on the Roof in Cardiff on Monday. Loved it, just wondering if that's exactly what it looked like in the Savoy Theatre before it embarked on the national tour.

I'm starting back in university on Sunday. Going into my second year of my Acting degree and my first module, we'll be doing scenes from Spring Awakening (gasp!) the play. I've been assigned to play Melchoir, Otto and Hans in some scenes. Having read the play (haven't listened to the cast recording yet), looks really interesting!
Everything in life...is only for now.

re: Omigod You Guys...its Friday!

Well not really related, but I started Uni this week.

Scary stuff!

But.....FRESHERS WEEK!! =D Great, great times being had.

Actually, I did manage to find a society for a charity show they put on at the end of the year. Other than that there seems to be NO musical/theatre/anything society around. Pretty shocking actually.

Contemplating putting on Little Shop of Horrors for a giggle. Almost solely because I want to be Audrey II so bad.

Em...semi related...this 'GIANT' Rent poster is arriving tomorrow to brighten up this prison cell of a Uni bedroom.

Other than that, not a theatrey week. Not even had a chance to listen to any musicals.

re: Omigod You Guys...its Saturday

Sam: did you get the Paul monologue learnt? Have you performed it? How did it go?

Weez: I'm off to see Waves tonight at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.

I became a "Broadway Legend" on this site this week!!! I'm not sure if that is a good or a bad thing!!! Are there any initiation ceremonies I have to go through? Will they be like graduating or more like rugby-club post-match? Will Miss Patti share her dressing room with me? Will my portrait go up at Sardi's?

re: Omigod You Guys...its Saturday

I managed to see 5 1/2 shows in 6 days once, and one of those days was a sunday, I was all theatred out afterwards lol. I go to the theatre in bursts of about 4 times a week, then not for another 2/3 weeks, then loads again, it's fun =D Haha

re: Omigod You Guys...its Saturday

Yeah, that's how I do it too. I figure it'll save me on travelling-to-London costs if I see multiple shows for each trip-to-London, so I'll never see fewer than two shows when I go into town, and I'll usually go for more. I was pleased that 'Nicholas Nickleby' was running on Sundays back in January, I managed to do one on Friday, two on Saturday, then both parts of 'Nicholas Nickleby' on the Sunday. re: Omigod You Guys...its Saturday

Also, the West End is bloody good for multiple day trips, because there are Tuesday and Thursday matinees in the week as well, rather than going by the Broadway model of sticking slavishly to Wednesdays and nothing else until the weekends. :3

re: Omigod You Guys...its Saturday

I can walk to most west end theatres within about 15 minutes, which is fantastic for me! Whenever someone has a spare ticket for a reason; they call me up, oh yeah =D
It's the only reason I get to go the theatre so much, I don't have to organise hotels, travel or anything else. I spend all my money on seeing shows, apparently other people my age spend their money on clothe; I'd rather see shows lol. Also people seem to buy me a lot of tickets, it's really weird, but that will run out once I'm old enough to get a job lol, I can also get free tickets to Jersey Boys and a couple of others quite a bit! =D
I never want to move house!
