I was shopping for some theater seats tonight and I was wondering if anyone has figured out the rhyme or reason behind the current discount codes for On The Town? For a good portion of the orchestra seats, the discount codes actually make the seat a dollar MORE expensive than the regular prices. And the discount for the back and sides of the theater is all of $9?? This for a show that is running with a theater that is quite empty?
Oh, well... I got Hedwig tickets instead...

The show is being heavily discounted on every papering service on the face of the earth.

Please excuse my naivete, but... how would I find said "papering services"? Before giving up earlier today, I tried playbill.com and broadwaybox.com and they all came up lame.

nytix.com (has some free discounts, others you have to buy [I've never done that])
You can also download the TodayTix app if you have a smartphone or tablet. On the Town is usually on there for tickets starting at $32. If you have never used it before, you can use a referral code (mine is HHPPI) and save $20 off your first purchase. (So you could potentially see On the Town for $12!)

Thanks, loliveve. I tried those, with the exception of TodayTix (I'm looking for orchestra seats), but no joy.
I guess each producer figures out their own way to manage things... I'm guessing that the strategy behind On The Town's marketing will just remain a mystery to me.

Do you want center orchestra? I only ask because I know there are usually side orchestra seats available through TodayTix.
But anyhow, I thought of another sites with discount: newyork.com/broadway
I forgot BWW has discount page too...but I just checked that one and the offer for On the Town expired April 30 
(So I'm only bringing it up for future reference)

loliveve... LOL, no, in general, I'll settle for side orchestra.
Thanks for the additional site... I checked newyork.com -- they don't give you a choice of seats, and are more expensive than the standard "discount price", so it doesn't seem like it pays.
As to TodayTix, I figured that I'd go for it and install it. Then I discovered that it also doesn't show you your ticket locations, and the app on Android wanted permission on my phone to deal with device and app history, identity, calendar, location, phone, photos/media/files, camera, wifi connection information, device id and call information. Really? For buying theater tickets? Sounds almost worse than the NSA <winks>!
dollypop... Thanks, but I have that pesky problem with TDF that they don't give you a Clue where you are sitting. Or am I wrong about that?

And for what it's worth, I enjoyed it a lot more than An American In Paris.

I didn't realize all those permissions were required... Usually I don't allow a lot of that on apps on my phone! But maybe that info was not required when I first installed the app because I know there is an update pending.
ANYHOW- I'm so glad that you enjoyed it!! I thought this revival of "On the Town" was wonderful.
