Is the part of the agwe, the god of water, a good part? Is it worth trying for? I decided not to try out for the show but then this spot came open. Opinions?

Yes it is a great part in a great show. You would have a killer number in "rain" too. I would say do it.

And not only "Rain" but being a storyteller too, I think it is completely worth it, if it is a good production...

Ohh, I love "Rain." Great song to sing and especially play, very distinct rhythms and sound, the instruments get to play the eerie part of rain, ah it's awesome.

"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

i absolutely adore this show!!!

adore adore adore! i love it to pieces. and agwe is a marvellous role to play. so long as you're a bari with a good upper register and know how to sing 'rain' emotively, the audience will be in the palm of your hand

good luck!

"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending. The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."
