Posted: 10/5/05 at 4:29pmwho else agrees that this show was so underrated and unappreciated? I mean it only played for a little over a year and a lot of people have never even heard of it. I went into a local production knowing nothing and came out awed. after going back the second night, i bought the cast recording. any thoughts about the show or CD?

I thought it was the best show on broadway that year, and one of the best of the 90s. Thoroughly entertaining. Simple in a profound way, well constructed, well directed and an AMAZING score and terrific cast.

Posted: 10/5/05 at 6:18pmI agree. A group did it here last summer. The production wasn't that great, but we got the cast recording. I love it!

i really like it. Not exactly love, but like a lot.
I auditioned to be in the NJPAC production, but the auditioner basically kicked me out of the audition. now, I can see why. Back then, I cried my eyes out at home. I was about 12, first audition (besides middle school ones) and I started too early on the song. So, yeah. But i saw it and NJPAC and they did a good job! and I have the recording and like it. LaChanze does a great job!
