One ticket for Hamilton (8/15 matinee)

Hey. I got a ticket for Hamilton a while back, but unfortunately, a death in the family prevents me from attending. I'm trying to get rid of this thing for at least face value. I'm not located near the city, so I'm using eBay and will just ship it express. If anyone's interested, see here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161780363386


The ticket is rear mezzanine, second row, pretty much exact center. Should be a good seat to a hot show. Sucks that I can't go!

This is the only time I'll bump this. The auction has less than 24 hours left, and it's below face value still. If it sells at this price, it'll be the cheapest good seat for Hamilton I've seen. Depressing for me but good for you. :)

I've noticed on Ticketmaster that they are offering 're-sale' tickets - which appear to be tickets that are being sold (at higher than face value by some appearances!) from individuals who purchased tickets and are re-selling them.


For instance, on Friday night, there are no Ticketmaster tickets, but there are re-sale tickets for over $700.


I have no idea how it works. I just noticed this new ticket sale approach this morning.

I know, it's pretty ridiculous. It's been a source of frustration for me, as I've watched many tickets that are clearly from professional scalpers be snatched up as I'm left holding onto a ticket for a show that conflicts with a memorial service. Ugh.

Addy, That red resale function on Ticketmaster has been there for some time. I live in Jacksonville where scalping is now legal. (changed a couple of years back) I am curious if the red resale function works/shows up for those cities where scalping is illegal.

Sorry for your loss.


I bought my ticket a week ago for an August performance. There are tickets available. I don't understand why people are offering their arms and legs. This isn't Book of Mormon circa April 2011.

rob136, did you call Ticketmaster to see if you could put your ticket up for sale through their re-sale system?

Addy, I should have also added if the resale function is turned off then the red resale tickets don't show up. That may have been why you didn't see it earlier.

Rob, if you bought your tickets through Ticketmaster (as opposed to the box office), when you go to your account, there is a button to sell tickets. I believe it's next to the button to print your tickets. So perhaps you can resell through Ticketmaster easily.

The auction is a guaranteed sell at this point, so I'd rather just stick with that than risk it. I'm not in it to make a quick buck; I just want to claw my way back to even. I'm almost there (like $20 shy of break-even when you count Ticketmaster, eBay, and Paypal fees), so I'll stick it out. Like 12 hours left on the auction anyway.
