Glinda's Candy & Norbert Leo's Butt, I know you're joking about cardigans, but is it really true that you can't work in an orchestra pit unless you're over 65?

No, you can actually work in a theatre pit orchestra at any employable age.
But it is true that you have to smell of cardigans - when I got into one, I went and rolled around in the clothing section of a charity shop for 10 minutes. However, as it was for the Royal Opera House, it turned out they only wanted people who smelt of biscuits

Indeed it is in the Great United Kingdom of England - and when the ROH is not being used for opera, the Queen lives there and Prince Philip watches the performances from his usual seat in box five which is left empty for him....
