Zamedy, I hope you like this production just as much as I did when it played DC in March.

That was really interesting. Certainly not a sentimental, sepia-tinted fan-show but an ojective look at the down as well as the up sides of giving part of yourself to this masterpiece.

And a brilliant and cutting reminder of how adroit a work At The Ballet is.

Well, the original cast attended the Broadway closing night performance and part, but this was probably the last time that they performed A Chorus Line segments together on that scale.

if you really want to get to know A Chorus Line, start with "On The Line: The Creaton of A Chorus Line" by Baayork Lee, Thommie Walsh and Rovert Viagas. The book chronicles the creation of the show VERY in depth beginning with the germ of an idea, explicit details of the first tape session, and the following workshops and continuing on through the run of the original company members. All is told exclusively from the point of view of the original 19 principals and it tells you many many things that youw ould not otherwise have known, including how much of a egotystical terror Bennett REALLY was clears up MANY misconceptions of the show's creation. The newer edition was published just prior to the revival's opening and includes bios of each of the 19 up until that point. Naturally, Baayork Lee's self written is incredibly self involved and a bit pompous.

For a VERY details look at the operation of the show, told entirely through quotes from on and off stage veterans of the show and containing HUNDREDS of pictures, a complete list of people who performed in the show on Broadway, details on the gala performance marking it becoming the longest running show and a chart of sales and grosses for every week of the original. 15 year run (and notations for all major landmark dates during the run), read "The Longest Line: Broadway's Most Singular Sensation: A Chrous Line" by Gary Stevens and Alan George.
