Posted: 8/2/04 at 3:01pmOkay, Shoshana is so a common name in Israel. I'm pretty sure it's a type of flower.

"yes! Cheyenne is an unusual name. Well i dont hear it everyday!"
I enjoy the fact that his first AND last names are both state capitals. I guess I'm just easily amused...but a guy like that needs an unusual first name! It wouldn't be the same if his name was Larry!
re: Original First Names#39
Posted: 8/2/04 at 3:19pmNow Taye, that's an unusual name.

Posted: 8/2/04 at 3:30pmTaye's real name is Scott.. nothing too weird there. Apparently his uncle used to call him scottay .. hence Taye. I'm not sure why so many actors have to come up with clever stage names. I think I'll stick with my own.
re: Original First Names#43
Posted: 8/2/04 at 3:31pmWell, they want to be remembered. Taye is more momrable than Scott. And also, I think that no two actors are allowed to register with Equity under the same stage name. That's why Stephanie J. Block added her middle initial in- somebody was already registered under Stephanie Block.

Scott isn't weird, but he goes by Taye. That's weird. And I'm in total agreement with having to change their names to something unusual.
And Stephanie J. Block is fine - nothing odd about that. Very common to just add a middle initial for union membership.

Posted: 8/2/04 at 3:33pmYou are right about the 2 actors thing. I guess you do want to stand out. But sometimes I think people are ridiculous about it. Like I know a girl who changed her name from Anna to Emma. Ok, now you're just changing to change. There is nothing more spectacular about Emma than Anna. Come on.

Someone said Taye... here's where we get "Taye" from (I read this somewhere): Taye's real name is Scott. When he was a kid, people called him Scotty, which morphed to be pronounced like "Scottay," which in turn became "Taye" for short.
"There is a guy in AIDA named "Slam" .. thats it, just Slam. I saw him outside the stage door and told him i thought his name was awesome. I really need to name my kid something like that. Slam..Bang..Exxon..Thor..Any suggestions?"
LMAO. I remember staring blankly at Adam's name on this list and being like "Slam. Now *that's* a name" when I saw that. Interesting, that's for sure.

Harvey is my father's first name so I never thought that name was all that unique... But he hates it - he goes by Robert, his middle name!

Yes i love the name Slam. I think that day i also said that I should name my child that. I think he overheard too. I dont think he understood that i just thought it was an awesome name, not that I was like "o0o Slam i LOVE you! I am going to name my baby after you" I think i scared him.

LoL. Larry. Nope dont see it working. Does that remind you of Taboo? Whats you name? Marcus - your real name. Gary. Ok i know that isnt the exact lyrics but you guys know what i mean.
