"first off, this "story" is being made up by someone..."
We know, we're just discussing how she would be and our thoughts of her playing Tracy. Who exactly said this on TRL, Kelly or someone else? Because unless it was Kelly (or Marc Shaiman/someone associated with Hairspray) it shoudn't be taken that seriously.
That was a couple of weeks ago - things could have changed. And I'm sure Jibsons' contract will be up before she's replaced - especially since this isn't until the end of the summer.
I'd be very interested to see how Kelly does, if indeed this happens. Very interested.
Isn't the show packing audiences already? Why would they jump to stunt casting when the sho wis doing well without big name Tracys.

Beaver, yes, saw the post.
But I do disclaim all information.
It was said by Kelly. She looked into the camera and talked about starring on Broadway as Tracy.
Does anyone know how to make things bold on this? I don't want anyone getting mad at my information...

okay.. if an OSBOURNE said it.. it should be taken seriously? hahahaha
Yes, Beav, but she's supposed to be sober now.

I kinda haven't... I've had MTV blocked since I was born, until about a month ago.
But just what I heard.
Hopefully they're just taking turns, Beav!
I can only imagine her comment was about "setting her sights on Broadway" or something like that, and then they twisted that to make it sound like a fait accompli

I'll believe it when I see it and will give her a fair chance... who cares how she is in real life. It's called acting people.

Gotta love having Marc Shaiman here to keep things honest. It reminds me of the Marshall McCluhan scene in Annie Hall. Thanks Marc.
Marc, she actually SAID, "I WILL be in Hairspray this summer, etc." there was no other way to take it, she said she was cast! whats the deal?
I guess she is one very confident girl who feels if you see it, it shall be
I hope she sees a room with a piano player and a bunch of scary middle-aged queens sitting behind a table, talking to each other as she auditions!!

oh Marc, you guys aren't scary.. screaming, yes. scary, no. lol.

I am, as always, glad of the wisdom Mr. Shaiman brings us, but I happened to see this on MTV today. There was no "Maybe" about it: They said that Kelly would be joining the Broadway cast at the end of the Summer and she would be playing Tracy. They played a clip of Kelly saying that she needed a new challenge as she had been on a TV show, made a made-for-TV movie, been a recording artist and starred in a reality show. So now she was headed to Broadway and she was very excited about it. The VJ then said that the movie of Hairspray was starting production soon, so maybe we'd see Kelly starring in that as well.
It brought chills to my spine. I hope they come up with a decent explanation of why Tracy Turnblad, of Baltimore, Maryland, speaks with a thick British accent, as Miss Osbourne seems incapable of losing it no matter what the part she plays. (Watch her TV show some time...if you can!)
Marc your fan club here at BWW is hoping that you are right and MTV is wrong. This reminds me of when I heard it reported on MTV that Michael Jackson had married Lisa Marie Presley and I KNEW that couldn't possibly be true...oh God.

Well, if it's a choice beween believing the award-winning composer of the show who oversees all major casting changes to the Broadway cast, or Kelly Osbourne who ...... well, I won't comment on her reliability in this matter ..... I'll go with Marc.
If she hasn't auditioned for Marc, Scott, Jack O'Brien (the director) and at least one of the producers yet (as Marc indicates), then she doesn't have the part and has no business going on national television telling the world that she does -- not a smart move if she really wants to play Tracy at some point. Now, if she is just looking for some free publicity by saying this and has no intention of ever auditioning, then she's gotten what she wanted.
It'll be quite interesting to see how all this plays out in the coming days and weeks.

My brother was watching TRL just now, and that scrawny geeky news guy gave a correction notice. He said that Kelly "was a bit premature" in her saying she had the part, but "she is in contention". So, even MTV is somewhat covering it up lol

the skinny one? Damien? he pings as sucha queen - of course HE corrects.
She is not in contention.. she hasn't auditioned! lol.
gee, I always wanted to be on TRL, and now, I sorta almost
