Thank you for this! I’m pissed I didn’t get an email Or anything from MCC about it and the $5 tix are gone but whatever this is worth $15 for the stream.
This is really excellent and also really glitchy. I'm grateful to finally be able to see this play but the glitches are a getting a little too much to take. They really should film these in advance and edit out imperfections and then live stream that recording. I know everyone's still getting used to doing things like this so but I think that's the way to go.
Jordan, wasn’t Tomei amazing? I loved the inventive way she played to the camera. She is so vibrant and always commits thoroughly to her roles. And the primal scream of a play, with its sobering view of a dystopia where people are not allowed human contact and sexual intimacy, worked well in this format. Yes, lots of glitches and I would have dropped the stage directions (once Tomei and Isaac caught fire they were not needed). Isaac was great and Patrick Breen did fab work in a small role. What a terrific fundraiser for MTC—groundbreaking and risky.
