Hi people, am over in NYC at end of feb in time for the Oscars. Anyone know of any bars me and group of friends could go and sit and watch them at while enjoying the odd few drinks. As were seeing a Sunday evening performance of a show, would this clash with them anyway.
Any advice would be greatfully received.

Many thanks

How many of you?
Last year I was with a group of 20 friends and we went to a bar and watched the Tonys. We had our own section of the restaurant/bar and two large flat-screen TVs to watch them on.

If you're just 8 or less, I'd take suggestions from others.

The bar I went to was either called The Apple Grill or The Apple Tree (oddly enough) or something of that nature. I believe it's on 8th ave between 43 and 50. If someone else knows what I'm talking about, I'm sure they'll know where it is.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
