These nominees sucked anyway. :)
Happy for NLB, though. :)

Wooo! Altar Boyz for Off-Broadway musical, and La Cage for Revival of a Musical. Yay!
Was Bee not eligible for OffBway musical?
Wow... anyone think the Tony's will reflect similarly? Anyone know how it compared last year?
I guess that's what I expected, way too much Spamalot.
I must second the yay for Norbert Leo Butz though!
The nominees were a little on the "blah" side.
Amy Ryan and Twelve Angry Men I am happy about, too.
Have to put a general Bleh out for the most part though.
Kind of what I expected, I think.

A big fat "bleh" to many of the major choices. Good thing the OCC doesn't mean much.

I'm a little surprised that Spamalot won for costumes. I mean, they were creative and all, but... not THAT great.
Was Pacific Overtures nominated for Revival of a Musical? As much as I wanted La Cage to win, I was expecting Pacific Overtures to (if it was nominated).
great for Norbert. He deserves it
Woot for Victoria, Dan, Sara, & Altar Boyz!!! Nobert deserves all his good exposure, but it's a less than hearty role. I'm actually kinda surprised the critics are honoring Spamalot as much as they're doing. It really was a weak year. Not that I disliked Spam, but it's not the strongest show.

I wasnt really surprised by anything either. Spamalot's costumes, in my opinion copied the Producers a lot. The whole Camelot showgirls costumes reminded me of the Springtime for Hitler costumes with the pretzel or the beer.
I did dislike Spamalot, but I'm not surprised it keeps getting honored.
Norbert's role may not have been "meaty" but it certainly was not "easy" and in a lesser actors hands really could have been a mess. There were not a lot of "heavy" dramatic roles in Musicals this year, and Norbert knocked the comedy out of the park.
Spamalot's costumes were very much like the Producer's with the costumes from the movie thrown in.
Yeah for Norbs...hope this is the beginning of many awards and recognition for him, he got the best reviews of any musical actor this year..and I second that.
No!! La cage can not win!
Now Sweet Charity needs to win the Drama Desk and Tonys..

Because Pacific Overtures doesn't exist, of course.
Pacific Overtures was nominated -- it won't win anything, because it closed in January, but those of us who remember it know that it was the best revival of the year.
I hope that shows like "...Spelling Bee" and "The Light in the Piazza" will get recognized. Looks like it's a "Spamalot" sweep this year.
Hooray Norbert, Sara, Spamalot, Billy Crystal! These people know what they're doing!
I have to give my whooping hollers out to the four winners of acting in musical categories...all of my top choices! YAY!
YAY for Altar Boyz and Norbert! Very well deserved!
I agree with the sass about ignoring Pacific Overtures. I mean holy crap, it was an amazing production of one of Sondheim's lushest, and most complicated, scores. Its overall design was gorgeous and the cast (go women!) were perfection.
(Wow, I realized I've posyed a lot today and most of my comments are lovey dovey and complimentary. I'm not a shill.)
yay victoria clark won! and i am happy that nlb also picked up the award. but more importantlly voctoria won!
Good for Norb! This should be the start of a bee yoo ti ful collection of awards!! Much deserved!
