Posted: 5/13/07 at 5:01pmthanks! I'm a tad disappointed that Audra didn't win, but I'm sure Donna's is well deserved.

Posted: 5/13/07 at 5:07pmI also want to point out that despite getting the most nominations, Mary Poppins got diddly-squat whereas Spring Awakening, which only got 3 nods, won for everything it was nominated for :) Updated On: 5/13/07 at 05:07 PM

Murphy over McDonald?
A shame.

Loving the Donna Murphy love. Hopefully, she'll be taking the Drama Desk home as well and will be Ebersole's strongest competition.
I was pushing for Hyde Pierce over Esparza but the rest of the awards were quite satisfying.
Congrats to Karen Ziemba and David Pittu, particularly.

Posted: 5/13/07 at 6:38pmDoes Karen Ziemba stand a better chance at the Tony than Mary Louise Wilson?
#11re: Outer Critics Circle Award Winners
Posted: 5/13/07 at 6:41pmKeep in mind, Wilson wasn't eligible this year. That being said, i still think Wilson has it.

Posted: 5/13/07 at 6:44pmThe only one that REALLY surprised me was David Pittu. The rest of them pretty much went the way I expected. Mary Poppins will win the Tony for set once the distinction between play and musical is made. As for Ziemba, I think it was pretty evident that she was going to win all of the awards leading up to the Tonys. I still think Wilson has the Tony in the bag though.

I am glad that David Pittu will have won at least one award by the time the awards season is over. He is an invaluable part of LoveMusik for he really livens the show up.
I'm also glad that Karen Ziemba won, but more out of the fact that Curtains has won something (Pierce, Monk, and Hibbert stood out more in my opinion). This can be something that they can boast on the marquee.

Michael Mayer for direction of SPRING AWAKENING?
Well, at least Murphy and Gaines won deservedly.
#20re: Outer Critics Circle Award Winners

It's on ebay. I know because I'm contemplating buying a poster like it. (Well, it's the same one. Through a seller. It's Edie's performance at The Reno Sweeney in NYC in the late 1970s-1978 or 79, I think. It's stunning.)
