re: Outer Critics Circle Award Winners

thanks! I'm a tad disappointed that Audra didn't win, but I'm sure Donna's is well deserved.

I also want to point out that despite getting the most nominations, Mary Poppins got diddly-squat whereas Spring Awakening, which only got 3 nods, won for everything it was nominated for :)

Murphy over McDonald?

A shame.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Loving the Donna Murphy love. Hopefully, she'll be taking the Drama Desk home as well and will be Ebersole's strongest competition.
I was pushing for Hyde Pierce over Esparza but the rest of the awards were quite satisfying.
Congrats to Karen Ziemba and David Pittu, particularly.

Does Karen Ziemba stand a better chance at the Tony than Mary Louise Wilson?

re: Outer Critics Circle Award Winners

Keep in mind, Wilson wasn't eligible this year. That being said, i still think Wilson has it.

re: Outer Critics Circle Award Winners

The only one that REALLY surprised me was David Pittu. The rest of them pretty much went the way I expected. Mary Poppins will win the Tony for set once the distinction between play and musical is made. As for Ziemba, I think it was pretty evident that she was going to win all of the awards leading up to the Tonys. I still think Wilson has the Tony in the bag though.

re: Outer Critics Circle Award Winners

I am glad that David Pittu will have won at least one award by the time the awards season is over. He is an invaluable part of LoveMusik for he really livens the show up.

I'm also glad that Karen Ziemba won, but more out of the fact that Curtains has won something (Pierce, Monk, and Hibbert stood out more in my opinion). This can be something that they can boast on the marquee.

Thanks Mungo! :) I am so in love with that show. And that song wows me every time. At that point I'm crying from laughing. :)

I would give the award to Murphy before McDonald, too.

re: Outer Critics Circle Award Winners

It's on ebay. I know because I'm contemplating buying a poster like it. (Well, it's the same one. Through a seller. It's Edie's performance at The Reno Sweeney in NYC in the late 1970s-1978 or 79, I think. It's stunning.)
