Posted: 4/20/08 at 4:17pmOn the eve of announcing nominations, I'm curious about everyone's input about who they think will be nominated. Outer Critics Circle nominations always have curve balls IMO so I wouldn't be suprised to see TLM love. Any ideas?

Posted: 4/20/08 at 4:22pmI believe so (Drama Desk and Outer Critics rules are different, otherwise Audra and Donna wouldn't have been nominated last season), the only show not elligible will be Glory Days I think.

Posted: 4/20/08 at 4:34pmI believe In the Heights is not eligible because of its Off-Broadway run last year. I think that both the Outer Critics Circle and the Drama Desks are going to have more Off-Broadway noms in the musical categories than they normally would -- I would not be surprised to see Adding Machine and Next to Normal in the mix someplace.

I believe PASSING STRANGE isn't eligible either.
And yes, GLORY DAYS is the only new choice not eligible for OCC's or Drama Desks. It will be eligible for the Tonys though.

Posted: 4/20/08 at 4:48pmI believe Passing Strange did not begin previews last year until May, making it ineligible for OCC or Drama Desks last year. I expect Drama Desk to award Best Musical to Passing Strange, with OCC's award going either to Passing Strange or Adding Machine.

If In the Heights and Glory Days are both ineligible, there are only 6 possible nominees for the 4 slots for Best Broadway musical: Passing Strange and Xanadu (which are both locks), A Catered Affair, Cry-Baby, Young Frankenstein, and Little Mermaid. What do you predict will be the other 2 nominees?
A Catered Affair seems likely to make it in -- I think the fourth one will probably be Young Frankenstein, although it could be any of the three.
